Why should you “detox”?
For centuries, in many cultures around the world, detoxification is about resting, cleansing and nourishing the body from the inside out.
The goal is to stimulate the liver to drive toxins from the body, promoting elimination through the intestines, kidneys and skin and improving circulation of the blood.
There are many fasting programs and recipes, most of them follow a 7-day schedule because it takes time for the body to clean the blood.
But the most important way to detoxify is exercise, breathing deeply to allow fresh oxygen to circulate and moisturize the lungs through your system which also have beneficial effects on the digestive systems. Sweating helps the body to eliminate waste through perspiration and exhalation.
Occasional intake of excessive supply of food, alcohol and/or medications will burden the organs due to toxic substances, but it will not have any dramatic impact, as the body is capable of detoixifying itself and re-establishing its ideal biochemical milieu.
However, it these deviations become the norm over time, the body will soon reach the limits of its capacity to re-establish an equilibrium. Waste products will then accumulate in the blood and deposit in the vessel walls, leading to reduction in the vessel diameter. Consequently, the blood become more concentrated and thickens. Circulation worsens over time and any exchange between the blood and the cells becomes slower and worse. Waste products excreted by the cells on a regular basis accumulate in the tissues as a surplus substance instead of leaving the body quickly. Organs become incapable of working properly. The liver and the kidneys are overstretched with the task of cleansing the body fluids. As a result, all processes are disturbed, at the organ, cellular and basic substance levels..
